Burgess and I will no longer be using this as our family “blog”. We have decided to switch to blogger and make our new blog private. We just feel better being on the safer side If you have not already received an invite to the blog please comment here or email me and let me know that you would like an invite. I just need your email address to invite you. I would love for all of you to still keep up with us so don’t be shy! LOVE YOU and check us out on blogger – burgessandamy.blogspot.com (after you have received and invite of course).
The other day Freddy and I decided to go on an adventure. We were very excited!
We walked a little ways and we found this:
and a little further – we found them:
(The man in the green hat getting his picture taken kindly yelled to us, “Vote NO on Obama’s Health Plan – It’ll Kill you! and your BABY too!”)
Then we found this:
The Melting Pot – YUMMY! It was right across the street from this: (The 2nd largest mall in America. It is smaller only in size because it doesn’t have an amusement park but it actually has the most stores than any other mall in america – so pretty much it’s the biggest) IT IS HUGE! By the time we walked just through a little bit of the mall we were tired. So we headed back to our house and took a nap.
Today on your five month birthday we: Woke up around 8 am (which was nice and needed since you woke up screaming at 2:40 am last night – Daddy snuggled you and you went back to sleep). After we ate breakfast and said bye bye and love you to daddy we played a little bit. You sat up by yourself for a long time today and threw your toys all over the place. I tried giving you some tummy time but you immediately started screaming and as this is your five month birthday and all I turned you to your back and made you laugh a little. We were suppose to celebrate with Auntie Keri today BUT she “got sick” and didn’t come up. I know, I was disappointed too. She said she would try to come up next weekend. So since it was just you and me today we got really adventurous and drove BY OURSELVES to the post office (got a tad it lost, but we found our way) and to home depot. You were flirting with everyone at the post office and that must have worn you out because you slept through all of the home depot – sad because you LOVE home depot. We got magnets, a tiny paint tin, a drop cloth, sand paper and stick on hooks so that I can finish some of my projects. Then we came home and had some lunch and we played and sang songs and we played and we laughed and then you took a very long nap. I did all the laundry while you slept and then we made a VERY delicious quiche for dinner. SO GOOD. You are taking a little nap right now (at 8:06 pm). I’m kind of hoping you’ll stay up a little later than 9:30 tonight so that you can have some play time with daddy. I wish we could eat cake today Freddy to celebrate but you can’t eat cake yet. I could eat it for you but I’m gaining – not losing right now and no one wants that. Who needs solids anyway? I gave in to the “pressure” and I tried giving you a little taste of rice cereal a couple of days ago (majorly diluted in breast milk) and you did not like it. You couldn’t swallow and just made a mess of your shirt. This made me SOO happy. I took you and nursed you in pure happiness and you ate tons. You ate so much that when I laid you down to change your bum after you ate I could hear the milk in your belly. Weird. This past month has been a crazy one! It seems like it has been 3 months in 1! A few things:
A lady on the street called out to us after seeing you and said, “LOOK AT THAT JUICY BABY!” You are pretty juicy…I guess.
You have this thing about your blankets on your face. One morning I came in to find you with your blanket COMPLETELY covering your entire face. It wasn’t even touching the mattress it was JUST on your face. What is with that? I didn’t get a picture of that but I did get this one:
You have also learned how to fake cry and whine…not my favorite thing, but yeah….
You are still pretty much the happiest baby in the world. Even while I was a crazy mama over the past month with packing, moving and then unpacking you were extremely patient and wonderful. I can’t tell you how much I love you and I know that I am the luckiest mama in the whole world to have you. Ok – so are you ready for pictures of yourself? These are from the past month:
I also had to get a couple pictures of your doing your favorite thing in the world. Drinking water from a cup. You are funny because if I try to drink out of a cup you immediately pull the cup down to you so you can drink. You have even latched right on while I am drinking from the cup. See pictures below:
You also had to say goodbye to your nana this month. I think you have missed her but you know you’ll always be her favorite and she will be back every month to snuggle and play. Here is a picture of you and nana saying good-bye:
You like it here in King of Prussia a lot though. Especially with cute girls like this around!
(I used to babysit these three girls when they were tiny tiny – like you! Now they are super cute and will probably babysit you once or twice while we are here.
So today has been a good one Fred. We played and we sang and we laughed and had a great time. Then I tried to take some pictures of you to document how extremely happy you were on your five month birthday and this is what I got:
So yeah, getting you in your extremely happy state didn’t work out so well. You were too focused on your favorite new toy (the remote). p.s. that is the second day in a row you have worn that outfit
So since I didn’t capture your excitement in pictures we tried video:
Thanks for cooperating here.
Freddy, I can’t help but love you more and more everyday. I can’t believe how much you have grown. You are amazingly smart. You are sweet and loveable and laughable. You fill each and everyday with joy and happiness. Thank you for giving me the best five months of my life. I love you baby. Let’s make this month go a little bit slower OK?
I will post later when I am all settled in and can collect my thoughts, but for now – my house is a mess and so is my brain. So this post is more for me than it is for you. In order to keep myself motivated…here are a couple before and after’s of the TWO rooms I have completely done.
You should see the INSIDE of my cupboards. THEY ARE PACKED! This is one amazing apartment kitchen though (organized by my mother in law and myself – Thanks Patsy!) it is storing a year’s supply of food storage for two adults and one child. Amazing.
Freddy’s room was the first room finished.
Next on the list:
Finish living room and organize desk (almost there)
Work on master bedroom and bathroom (not even close)
Finish laundry (working on it a bit every day)
Hang pictures and accessorize
THEN:
Refinish the side tables in ebony to match new bookshelf.
Find a couple of cute stools and an extra couple of chairs.
Figure out how to remove the arm rests from my desk chair.
By this time it will be time to decorate for christmas
Getting ready to go on our last Pittsburgh adventure.
Daddy took us on the” T”…”Dan- TAHN”
Freddy was very excited to be at the Pirates game sporting his new cap!
Freddy and Daddy watching the game. It turned out to be a GREAT game: 3 homeruns in the same inning BY THE PIRATES, and a walk off homerun to win the game!
Another cute shot of daddy and the boy.
cute bum bum.
The game was so exciting it really wore Freddy out.
We had a GREAT day. We will really miss you Pittsburgh!
Uncle Craig is always willing to hold a baby (he’s used to it). Pap Pap giving Freddy some love from what he doesn’t know will be the last time he is able to sit in that chair (funny story…ask uncle craig for details…in his defense though – those chairs were like 50 years old)
Happy to be celebrating Mammaw’s 70th birthday in Wheeling with the fam.
Isn’t this a beautiful picture of Nana? You’re the best Nana….
It was actually Uncle Craig and Aunt Judi’s Anniversary! Happy Anniversary! Aunt Judi put together an AWESOME dinner to celebrate for Mammaw! Thanks Aunt Judi – it was fun and TASTY!
“I see you Mama”
Also a good picture of Aunt Judi if I do say so myself….again…Thanks for doing all that work for Mammaw and everyone. It was so nice to see everyone.
It was such a nice day – I could have fallen asleep right there as well. (P.S. I made the onesie a STEELER onesie) Seriously though, it was THE perfect day. Couldn’t have been better (well, maybe if Ye Ye was there to celebrate with us. WE MISS YOU!)
Another good picture of Burgess’ cousin Nate and his girlfriend Sara.
Freddy wants that cake!
Make a wish Mammaw!
It was such a nice time. It was good to get to have a visit with everyone while we are still on this side of the state. We probably won’t get to see so much of Mammaw and Pap Pap but we’ll be A LOT closer to Aunt Judi and Uncle Craig.
Burgess had the day off on Monday so we took Freddy swimming
Freddy got a little tired so we soaked in some sun at the pool.
Then while we were chillin, I said to Burg, “Gosh we should have planned to go camping while you had these two days off in a row….HEY, WHY DON’T WE GO CAMPING? We can stay one night and then come home.” It took some convincing but Burgess gave in. We heard about a place that was nearby called Raccoon Creek State Park. I looked it up and it was only about 40 minutes away, has a lake with a beach for swimming and lots of hiking trails so we decided to give it a try. We rushed home and packed up the car, hit up the grocery store for some hot dogs and marshmellows and then we hit the road. I’m so glad we did! We had a great time!
Daddy unloading the car.
Freddy, having a great time watching Mama and Daddy put up the tent.
“Mama are we camping?”
Freddy LOVED his sleeping bag
Going to bed
Waking up
Freddy loved getting to spend so much time with Daddy. We spent pretty much the whole day at the beach…OK more pictures.

Freddy LOVING the lake
“Freddy, time to take a nap…OK?”
“But Mama, there are too many things to look at!”
“Freddy…..”
“OK”
“Finally ”
Camping was the best thing we could have done. Burgess officially has a job in Philly and will be in school full time so Freddy and I will be with out a Daddy a lot of the time. It was WONDERFUL to be able to spend a few days ALL together before things get really crazy. The next two weeks will be spent packing and packing and packing and then we are OFF on a new adventure!
