Waiting is coming to an end
First of all, thanks for visiting our website! It has a lot of work still left to do on it, but we will get there sooner or later.
We are both just getting so excited for the big day! Most of you know that we have been planning on getting married for going on 5 years now so the fact that it is less than two months away is a little hard to believe but a lot exciting.
Burgess came home from the Missouri Independence Mission August of 06 and I just got home from the Nebraska Omaha Mission June of 07. Burgess was there at the airport waiting for me with roses which really freaked me out. I did my best to avoid him until I was officially released and then I was still pretty standoffish for the first couple of days. Burgess took me to a movie as our first date which is very typical of us, we love movies. Then after a couple other dates he took me up to Strawberry Reservoir and thats when I finally kissed him. It wasn’t until after the kiss that he told me he was considering going home early because he was sure it wasn’t going to work out. It really didn’t end up taking us that long to fall right back in love and to realize we were still the best of friends.
I think I was home for no more than 3 weeks when I had my wedding dress picked out and my engagement ring on layaway. After Burgess went back to Pittsburgh we decided to both go to the temple on the same day and at the same time and pray about our relationship and the future and we both had a pretty amazing experience. We both knew through the spirit that the time had finally come so I just decided not to waste any time ![]()
Right now I am in school at LDS Business College and also working full time at Blockbuster as an Assistant Store Manager. Burgess just recently moved out here and is also working at Blockbuster (I got him the same job I have). He is also working on getting his associates degree from LDS Business College and then we are planning on finishing at BYU. Burgess is studying film making and he is enormously talented at it. I am working on a degree in Business.
So that is where we are right now. Hopefully soon this website will be looking more like us very soon with more pictures and fun stories. If you have any requests for stories let us know by leaving a comment.
ok – so mad at you!!!! How could you not email me about any of this!!! I know you have my email address. Still, super happy and excited for you – though I don’t know any of the details. grrrrrrr Love you!
Hey!
I am sooooo slap happy for the both of you! I just cant believe the marriage is finally going to happen! I remember when I was serving in Lake Oswego in Oregon and the two of you were dating and Burgess was baptized into the church and all that fun stuff! I remember how you said you would be getting married in 2007 and its totally happening! I am so glad I know you guys and I just love the way you met and how you have had to wait so long to be married but what a blessing that you were both able to serve a mission. I love it!
My husband, my daughter Brooklyn and I will for sure be at your wedding! Don’t worry I will RSVP the proper way!

Congrats, guys!
We are so happy for you both! I have followed the journey of your relationship from afar, but always with love and prayers for your happiness. Burgess and my daughter Lindsay were the closest of friends growing up (much more like brother & sister than cousins) and even though hundreds of miles and often many oceans have separated them for most of their lives, we still felt the closeness and warmth that Burgess always brings to the hearts of those around him. Our naturally selfish natures caused tears and longing while Burgess was on his mission, but we understand putting God first and respect Burgess’ commitment to his faith and to Amy.
The years and miles that we had been apart melted away in an instant when we were reunited with Burgess (Lindsay’s favorite “cousit”) at the recent wedding of another cousin, Matt Smith to his bride Abby, in WV. Burgess had gone from a vivacious teen to a self-assured adult with all the same “inner spark” that always lit our hearts.
Burgess, we love you completely and unconditionally. We believe in you and all that you do and know that you will find success in filmmaking as you have in finding a life partner.
Please consider a 2nd Honeymoon in California (still the movie capital of the world) as soon as possible.
Hi,
Amy I have not had the pleasure of meeting you yet… But I am Burg’s cousin Lindsay. We are the closest in age (about 9 months) and actually lived together for a short time as babies. BUGRESS was my first real word… (hard to understand at a year old… but that was it… he was my Buuuurdddessss)!

With that being said… How could I possibly miss my “First Words” wedding to the love of his life!
I honestly can not express how happy I am to see my cousin so in love. He is an amazing person and I am sure you are nothing less if he has decided to spend his life with you. I can not wait to meet you and attend such a blessed union.
So my mother and I will see you in a few weeks and please give my Burg lots of love of me…
I cant wait…
~Lindsay
The engagment photos are super. Amy is so beautiful. I hope you post pictures from the wedding.
Unfortunately we will be unable to attend the wedding. I am accepting a new postion and cannot take off so soon after beginning the job. We are extremely happy for both of you and wish you all the best! We look forward to meeting Amy and hope that you will have some sort of reception on the east coast.
You are always welcome in our home in Delaware. We love you, Burgess!
May God bless you both.
Aunt Judi and Uncle Craig and your Delaware cousins
