He was fascinated with the yellow floaty in the background
Look our legs are just as white as the bottom of the pool – I felt bad for the people we were with
He was very serious the entire time we were there – but he didn’t fuss at all. He would also get super excited at times and get really stiff and kick kick kick his legs. He is SO CUTE!
Since this was pretty much Freddy the entire time – I took some video of the “Big Boys” we were with. SUPER CUTE BOYS!
New definition for Pittsburgh: THE CITY OF CHAMPIONS! Yep, that’s right, we are now home of the super bowl champions and the stanley cup champions! The game was amazingly intense (at one point Burgess picked up a fresh dirty diaper that hadn’t made it to the trash yet and threw it as hard as he could across the room – that intense). Everyone was against us, but when it came down to it – Pittsburgh wanted it more – we fought – and we one!
(I just wrote you a big long letter and saved it over and over and over…and guess what? It didn’t save!)
You are 3 months old! I am so sad. I am going to miss you so much! Please stop growing. You are so fun right now – I can barely stand it!!! You are the best Fred. I can’t even tell you how much I love you. When I think about you I think my heart might explode! I think there is no way that I can love you more – but I do. I love you more and more every single day.
Right now you are drooling like crazy. You are sucking on everything you can get your hands on. You are still learning how to grasp on to things by yourself so you are sucking on your fists ALL the time and when you do grasp onto something you get really excited and hold on for dear life – then you try to stuff whatever it is in your mouth no matter how big it is.
The very best thing about you Freddy, is you are so incredibly happy! It is impossible to be sad around you. I never know when you actually wake up from your naps because you just lay there happy as can be smiling and laughing at whatever is around you. Then when I come in to say hello I get the biggest grin in the whole world from you. My heart melts and I just can’t kiss you and hug you enough! When you are super happy you love to suck on your fingers (of course) in between smiles and little squeal of delight. You kick your legs like crazy. You love to sit up – so much so that when you are in a sitting up position (like on my lap or in your boppy) you don’t want to lay your head back – you just want to look at everything around you and don’t want to miss anything. You are a very strong little boy (my iron man). Your cheeks make you look like a very chubby little baby – but you are all muscle baby (except for maybe those cheeks and your bum bum)!
You still love your baths, book and songs. Your newest book is “Dinosaur Roar” – you really like this book, but your favorite is still “Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See?”. I don’t know what it is about that book but every time I start reading it you light up and start talking like your reading the book. I think you’ll be reading before we know it! You also like the songs “Little Bunny Foo-Foo” and “The Wheels on The Bus”. We have been working on the hand movements of “The Wheels on The Bus” and thanks to Grandma Debby we sing with your Little Bunny Foo Foo all the time. You LOVE your Bunny Foo Foo.
We have had a lot of fun this month. We went to DC a couple time to visit Auntie Keri and also to Philadelphia to see our new home. You were so good during these trips. You slept almost the whole way each time and you were VERY patient the times you were awake and wanted out of your car seat. The only thing we regret about taking you on these trips is that now every time we put you in your car seat, you are unsure about it. Don’t worry Freddy, every time we put you in your car seat it doesn’t mean we are going to be in the car for 5 hours. We love you and we appreciate your patience. You really are the best baby in the whole wide world.
(p.s. you LOVE those monkey’s on your seat belt straps – you love to hold onto them and chew on them like crazy)
The picture above is of you before your new “man time” with Daddy. You are sleeping about 10-10 1/2 hours every night now so no more early morning feedings. Daddy misses you so much so now Daddy takes you on a long early morning walk or run. You get to see everything and you really love it. You are so lucky to have such a nice Daddy. We’ll have to figure out what your “man time” will be once it gets too cold to take you outside for walks/runs….
Fredrick, you are the most wonderful blessing to Daddy and I. We love you so much. You are so much fun. You are laughing more and more and that is the best. Daddy will pretty much do ANYTHING to get a laugh out of you. You smile constantly and talk and talk. You still snuggle and that is the best. We realize more and more how incredibly special you are and we are so grateful to have you in our lives. Thank you for coming to our family. We just don’t know what we would do with out you.
p.s. coming soon to You Tube: Freddy’s Three Month Video
We have had quite a busy week. We left early Wednesday morning and helped to move Asher into her DC apartment where she will be interning this summer. YAY FOR ASHER!
Then we went to Auntie Keri’s house and hung out waiting for her to get home from work. She was very busy finishing up projects before she starts her new job (PROMOTION – YAY AUNTIE KERI!) I made onion turkey burgers with gorgonzola herb topping – all topped with homemade onion rings - YUM!
The next day it was pretty rainy so we decided to go to the museum of natural history. Freddy was so good the whole time and we had such a fun time! I love doing things like this with my Burgess – he is so much smarter than me! Here are some pictures.
Freddy was awake, alert and happy the entire two hours we were there!
Good advice dontcha think?
(p.s. THANK YOU KERSTIN FOR THE SLING…It is awesome!)
(Our new city!)
Daddy’s favorite Dino!
(remember how I said it was rainy? Well when we left it was POURING, I laid Freddy down in the sling and covered him with a couple of blankets and then covered him with a PLASTIC SACK Yes yes, I win the worst mother of the world award. But for those of you who may actually be concerned, just know that when we got to our car he was toasty warm, fast asleep with out a drop of rain on him)
After the museum, we drove through DC traffic (FUN) and got home. I made this delicious dinner.
(homemade roasted garlic and cherry tomato sauce over Penne and arugula topped with italian cheeses)
We played and waited for Auntie Keri to get home.
Then Burgess and I went to Philly to sign the lease on the new apartment and look around Philly.

This post is getting boring I’m sure….sorry.
After signing the lease. We went downtown to check out Temple – very scary area. We did not stop and we did not take pictures. Please pray for my husbands safety. We thought we would welcome ourselves to Philly by testing the two famous Cheesesteak places. Pat’s and Geno’s. We tried both and Pat’s wins HANDS DOWN. Geno’s wasn’t even competition.
We also went to the temple. This was the highlight of our trip. It had been since christmas that Burgess and I had been to the temple together so it was really nice.
Meanwhile….
Freddy and Auntie Keri were having a grand time.
Freddy randomly laughed for me the other day. It was so cute and ever since I have been trying to get him to laugh again. He WON’T do it. He sometimes gets close, but refuses to laugh for me. Then the morning we left for Philly, I brought him into Kerstin and he looked at her, she smiled at him and he started CRACKING up. He just kept laughing for no reason. She didn’t even have to try. She called later to tell me that he had been laughing all day – SO MAD that I missed it but glad she got some of it on video. He hasn’t laughed since we came home…I must be SUPER boring. We love you Auntie Keri. Thanks for letting us visit and for watching Freddy while we ran around. You’re the best!
Freddy has had the BEST time visiting with his Yea Yea. They have played and played and snuggled and napped and watch sports and done everything that grandsons and grandfathers do. They really have bonded quite well. We loved having Yea Yea here and miss him very much already. Here is just a little glimpse of the Yea Yea – Freddy love
Freddy, you are two months (and a few days) old. I can’t believe how much you have grown. You’re still just a few weeks old but I find myself saying, “Remember when he was just a little baby?” and that is because you are such a big baby now! You have the CUTEST chubby cheeks I have ever seen. You have a double chin and wide eyes. You love to see what is going on around you. In fact, just the other day I was in charge of a big stake party and I was running around at the church for hours and you were perfect the entire time. You were perfectly intent to just sit in my sling and be carried around everywhere I went just as long as you were facing outward and could see everything that was going on. Many people commented on how lucky I am to have such a great baby. I totally agree. You are such a great baby and I love you very much. Sometimes my eyes fill up with tears because I am so happy to have you in my life.
I love the times when you are so happy you can hardly keep from smiling. You love to lay on your back and hang out and just look around the room. You just turn your head this way and that and just smile. You LOVE to read books. Your favorite book right now is “Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?” I’m not sure what it is about that book but you love it. Whenever you get a little restless I just pick up that book and start reading, “Brown bear brown bear…What do you see? I see a RED BIRD looking at me…..Red bird red bird…” and you immediately can’t get the grin off your face. I usually read it three times before we switch to another book. Other books you like are “The Tale of Peter Rabbit” and “Goodnight Moon”. You still love to sing songs but when your not feeling the greatest and/or are tired you get pretty calm when I sing you jazzy songs like “Misty” or “Summertime”.
Another thing you love is your bath time. You love baths (just like your Mama). I put you in your warm bath the same time I have the shower running on me and you love the soothing noise of the water running and the warm steam that fills the bathroom. You get so relaxed that sometimes you even fall asleep right there in the bath while I’m scrubbing your toes and drenching you in soap. You are so cute Freddy!!!!
You also have a really great new friend. His name is Yea Yea (Grandfather in Chinese). He is visiting you for the first time and he walks you around all over. He takes you out on the deck and tells you all about the trees and the birds and the neighbors and pretty much anything. He loves to have you around. He loves to play with you and you love that. Some of your favorite games with your Yea Yea are “Hammer Head” and “Motorcycle racing”.
(Yea Yea being really silly….)
You’re starting to sleep through the night now which is pretty nice, but Daddy misses you. You guys have had “man-time” during the night-time feedings since you were just a few weeks old and your daddy has really enjoyed that time with you. Now that you sleep all the way until 6 or 7 in the morning daddy still gets up with you and does your first feeding of the day. He loves you so much and he loves to have one on one time with you because your just too cute and so much fun!
This past month has been a little hard for you….the other night daddy dropped a package of wipes on your head…you cried. I tried to get something off of your face and you moved your head with out warning and my thumb nail went right into your eye! I thought I might have blinded you! You screamed! I’m so sorry Freddy….I think I cried a little too. Nana almost squished your leg when she was putting your toys on your chair and then….yesterday your Yea Yea was playing with you and you hit your head on the ceiling (I was upstairs so I don’t know what game you were playing) YOU SCREAMED BLOODY MURDER. I hurried downstairs and it took me a while to get you to stop crying. Your Yea Yea felt so bad about that and I worried a little too, but you were just fine…maybe just a little traumatized. Speaking of trauma. The Pens are in the play offs right now so of course we are watching all the games and it seems that just as you are calm and falling asleep the Pens score and Daddy and Yea Yea and even sometimes your Nana SCREAM in celebration and it scares you so bad I think you may cry harder from that than when you hurt your head with Yea Yea. Sorry Freddy….are we the worst family ever? We love you so much…WE’RE SORRY!
Yesterday was mother’s day and it was wonderful to be a mother on mother’s day. Daddy made Swedish Pancakes and you were the best baby all day. Freddy you truly are the best baby. You are amazing during church…you never even peep the entire time. You are very patient and well mannered. You love the music during church and you love to look at all the other people. You even started flirting with the Eldridge’s baby girl yesterday. You kept looking at her and giving her a BIG grin and then you’d turn your face away….look back at her GRIN….and then turn your face. You’re a little young time to flirting like that Fred. You also farted/pooped so loud during relief society (twice) that you totally disrupted the lesson. It was pretty funny Fred.
I can’t tell you how much I love you kid. You are truly the light of my life. I am so proud of you for being so good during all these crazy things that I have decided to do. Anytime we need to serve others and your mama is a crazy lady you are very patient and just go with the flow. I think you have a serving heart even at only two months old. You are peaceful and sweet and loving. You still love to snuggle your mama and I am glad about that because I love to snuggle you. I call you my “snuggle monster boy”. You love to snuggle your face on things. You will nuzzle your nose into my chest or your blanket or pretty much anything. I love that.
What else…You pooped the other day through your diaper, onesie, pants….ALL THE WAY UP YOUR BACK TO YOUR HAIR!
(you’ve been doing this a lot lately)
You have laughed twice so far that I have heard…but it wasn’t at me or anyone else…you were sleeping both times and one of those times you were even still trying to eat in your sleep. You are one talented baby! You were eating and laughing in your sleep. I think that pretty much describes you – you are a happy, fun loving chunker baby! I LOVE YOU FREDDY! I don’t know what I would do with out you kid.
Here we are playing on your two month’s old day…see how cute you are???
